Mar. 5, 12 & 19, 2018 - Gather at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) on Monday mornings to read, discuss and contemplate Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home, eloquently written by Pope Francis. This eco-encyclical inspires and invites people of all faiths to enter a “new dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet.” Pope Francis writes, “All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation, each according to his or her own culture, experience, involvements and talents.” Join Betty Daugherty, FSPA, and Angie Pierce Jennings for this six-week series beginning the first week of Lent (Feb. 12) and continuing through March 19. The group will discuss all six chapters of the encyclical (one chapter each week), and identify action items and ways of living Laudato Si’ in your own life and in your community. You are encouraged to read the introduction and chapter 1 in preparation for the first meeting. You are welcome to come even if you can’t attend all six sessions. The cost is $10 per session, plus the cost of book (available for $20 in Prairiewoods' Gift Shop). For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
