Art as Meditation for Earth & Self-Healing Retreat

Event Description

Mar. 16-18, 2018 - Art as sacred activism is generating fields of transformative energy all around the globe. Enter into the heart of creation with authentic wonder and love! In this weekend retreat at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) with renowned mixed-media artist Mary Plaster, create collage sculptures made of found objects as a meditation for healing our hearts and our environment. Weaving together collections of meaning-filled objects and finding inspiration in poetry, prose and music can help us visualize and reconnect to what energizes us. Then we will be prepared to reenter sacred activism. As Mary says, “Everyone is an artist, prophet and mystic.” Activate your artist’s soul! Mary Plaster, M.A., D. Min., is a Minnesota-based, world-traveled, mixed-media artist and creative facilitator. She is founder/artistic director of Duluth All Souls Night and has collaborated nationally over a decade in The Cosmic Mass of Rev. Dr. Matthew Fox with her giant depictions of Ancestors, Elements and Animals. The cost is $230 and includes sessions, lodging and all meals. The commuter fee is $180 and includes sessions, Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
